This is what happens when you are too gutless to enforce the laws. The COLA people may be a little overboard sometimes but this BOA bunch have been spineless cowards for far to long and just issue variances by the handful. This nonsense should have stopped 20 years ago but now is better than never.

How dare property owners attempt to improve their dwellings and living conditions without the BOA Overlord’s permission! Isn’t it enough that we allow the lake shore tenants to pay the majority of property taxes in this county? Now they want to take the initiative to improve their property on their own accord, (which will increase the value and taxes paid) without first kneeling before the (self)-righteous BOA and asking for their blessing. How dare they! These impudent serfs should be flogged and made an example of before they start a landowner rights movement or some other ridiculous legal action like a lawsuit. Furthermore, don’t they know that before any outward directional expelling of saliva within the sacrosanct impact zone, one must first obtain a shore land variance ? What a bunch of ingrates! Don’t they realize that the omniscient and omnipotent government has been ordained to guide citizens in environmental matters for the sole purpose of ultimate control? Punitive damages are only the beginning for these upstarts! We should threaten banishment from the kingdom- oops – county and require all to pay homage with bribery and kickbacks to the royal COLA elite! Long live tyranny!
