Looks like we’ve found out what the county commisioners make ‘above board’, doesn’t it?
Hot debate. What do you think?

Its called double dipping, it seems every county and state does it but here is the catch…free healthcare, and a pension for an elected official. Now maybe these comissioners don’t receive the retirement package unless they do more then one term, but I couldn’t say for sure. I do know our congressmen, Senators, and state representatives receive retirement packages even if they are only elected to one term. Their healthcare dental, and vision are also free. They also receive around 60hrs of sick and vacation a year, but yet some have the nerve to call people on unemployment, SS making 14T a year, or disability, free loaders. The elected officials made decisions on budgets and those working state, and county jobs were laid off due to cuts in budgets, but elected officials continue to collect their wages and benefits. Something to wrap your thoughts around and something we the people may need to look into and possibly vote for reform. Anyone of us must work 20 to 30yrs for retirement, and during the past 5yrs many of those who were looking to retire lost a significant amount of money in their 401′s, by no fault of their own, so they can’t retire. How many of the commisoners are already collecting a retirement on top of their salary as an elected official? Some probably have jobs as well. I believe it is legal in most states, and counties I am not sure about these rural counties.

So the Kandiyohi County economy is doing pretty well, I assume? If taxpayers can afford the pay raises for county workers, things must be pretty rosy around that area.

Doesn’t seem to make any difference how the local economy is doing, as long as the Kandi commisioners get a bigger cut, right?

Shouldn’t that money go to the upcoming lawsuits the commisioners created for us? Or maybe donate it to the year of free salary & healthcare for Gomm they will most likely have to pay for? Sickening.

I’m just pretty upset that my grandparents on a very fixed income have to fork over more money for property taxes to pay for these pay raises for county workers, commissioners, etc…actually I’m freaking mad about it.
They KNEW the state is sending out less aid to local units of government…so PLEASE tell me WHY these “leaders” couldn’t say “NO”!!!!!
How hard is it to say “no” these days??
