I do not think this guy just happened to fall through the cracks… I have heard of and know quite a few veterans that admit that they have problems and have told the health professionals during drills that “make sure they are ok” that they need help and are not doing good and they said you are fine you will be ok. So I think this is far more common than we know of. Then once the veteran gets told that and treated that way, s/he does not feel like talking about it with any other health professional because they will be blown off again and treated like it is not a big deal and not important. So I am happy to see this be brought to the surface but upset that they are saying that guy fell through the cracks. Don’t get me wrong they are trying to make it easier for veterans to get help getting back into society it is still not perfect.
