If I were Uline, I wouldn’t want a bunch of thugs ruining what should otherwise be a great day for their company either. They are a private company, and they are allowed to call the shots as to what happens at THEIR OWN groundbreaking event. It is typical for governors to attend events such as this, so don’t start crying about the cost.
Gosh, is everything about the unions??? Try a little unselfish gratitude for these jobs coming to Hudson, regardless if they are Minnesota or Wisconsin residents. There will be a significant positive impact from this move. You guys will look unhinged and extremely selfish if you show up, but it further makes our case every time you do.
Yes, previous elected officials were able to ‘walk among us’ as you say TJ. Need for security??? Might I harken back to last spring when death threats were made against the governor and others, items were thrown at elected officials, protestors charged onto private property locally (the Hudson House) toward an elected official, after being told to stay off private property. Not to mention the private event down in River Falls that showed union thuggery on display as the mob lined a road and shouted at, took pictures of and otherwise harrassed paying guests. If the left in this state could behave like mature adults, they might find themselves being treated like adults. Until that happens, they should expect to be left out.
Let me ask, if the Governor were to do an event for Special Olympics, would the left make a spectacle there too??? Oh that’s right…..they already did that down in Madison when protestors dressed as zombies and made a spectacle disrupting and drawing attention away from the Special Olympics awardees. Never mind.

If you think about it, when your opponents are a bunch of unpredictable whackos, security is a pretty good idea.

when you need to make your point, use old news. The article you link to was published MAY 13, 2011. You apparently want people to think Walker (and his family) hasn’t been harassed or threatened since then.

I wouldn’t use the word “willing” so freely there T.J. It almost makes it sound like they are doing it all for the right reasons, not for a guaranteed gov’t paycheck with massive legacy costs.

They are also willing to take my money to pay for their health care and retirement. You are right Tj we see the cost and they don’t. They are happy for us to be taxed more as ling is they are taken care of. Gosh my kids understand why that is wrong why can’t you?

They still willingly show up to work everyday to collect a paycheck. I’ll let you read between the lines why they do so with such little resistance.

There’s pretty good odds that actual “legit” number of signatures in about 250,000.
We agree for once Alice, ‘atta boy’ Mr. Walker. Keep fighting the good fight.

alice, the article you linked to said Walker is ending the practice of contracting WITH Planned Parenthood to provide education, determine eligability, and make appointments for certain cancer screenings. (And PP is the sole contractor in only 4 of 72 counties…some organization will undoubtedly replace PP.) NO WHERE in the article does it say Walker is ending cancer screenings.

How shameful that a company based in Pleasant Prairie, WI would search multiple MN cities for a cost-effective building site….and find one in Hudson, WI. Shame, shame, shame on them for running a business!

So why don’t you link to your source for Uline’s donation to Walker? I’d like to see who’s giving him $$$…and I’d like to see which progressive source sent out that action alert.

alice,
You’re wrong. From a January, 2, 2008 article: (FYI, Pleasant Prairie is near Kenosha, WI)
“PLEASANT PRAIRIE – Uline, touted as the nation’s leading distributor of industrial, packing and shipping materials, will move its headquarters from Waukegan, Ill., to Pleasant Prairie and build a new distribution center here.
The move will place more than 1,000 jobs – 350 of them new hires – in Southeastern Wisconsin, according to Gov. Jim Doyle’s announcement today. Doyle announced a financial assistance package worth more than $6 million to help Uline relocate and build the new center.
Uline will invest about $100 million to relocate its corporate headquarters and construct a new distribution center in Pleasant Prairie. The company will move 650 employees from its Illinois facility to the new one and hire and 350 new employees.

Get your facts straignt…..they are based out of Pleasant Prairie Wisconsin. They have found Wisconsin to be much more friendly to business than Minnesota or Illinois. Yes, Wisconsin won the competition for those jobs. Thank you Governor Walker!

Alice they also are very generous to the cities in which they reside. It is nice to see his welcoming you are to new business. So lets see have you banned Target yet? After all they chose to not union. Get a clue Alice. You call companies who chose to donate THEIR money not the taxpayers (like the union) thugs. You need a reality check.

At least you linked a recent article. What is interesting about it is the detailed analysis of Walker’s donations (and what was it, about 37,000 donations of $50 or less), and barely a mention of Democrat or Recall Walker money sources. From the MJS:
“No detailed reports on contributions to the state Democratic Party, Republican Party or the recall group United Wisconsin were available on the state elections website Thursday.
But the Democratic Party reported raising just under $1.2 million between July 1 and Dec. 10 to support its own role in the recall attempt. It has $360,000 in cash on hand…”
http://www.jsonline.com/news/statepolitics/recall-group-says-it-has-more-than-500000-signatures-5u3f3mt-135670858.html
So where do you suppose the Ds + Recall groups got their $$$? And since SEIU is paying people to come into the state and get signatures…how many millions of out-of-state union $$ will come/are in the state?
I personally think laws should be changed so only those people directly involved in electing officials should be allowed to donate.

Gee Alice, maybe you dont read the MN paper…. just a couple days ago they reported tha MN (liberal central) with a dolt lefty for a govroner lost just as many jobs…maybe you should consider that most states are in the same boat and stop blaming someone else for these issues. God forbid that walker does get recalled, I can guaranttee that job loss will continue if you stick some other lefty tool in his place.

Uline will create jobs- sure — but try and get one of those jobs!! been applying there for the last 2 years – unless you have a college education, they won’t even look at you — regardless of your experience in warehousing, and/or customer service. Very very sad, that apparently only college educated people know anything!

There’s only 1 reason that Walker is going to Hudson…to go party at Dibbo’s. That’s the only reason I used to go to Hudson. Well, and to that other bar around the corner and down the street that cannot be named or else I’ll get the “Your comment is awaiting moderation” response. You know the name of that other bar, I just can’t type it. They used to serve great bloody mary breakfasts after a hard, hard night of drinking.

Governor Walker hasn’t been in office for a year yet, and you expect him to have all of his campaign promises fulfilled already, while we’re still in a recession? That’s like asking you to do a full day’s work by 8:15am!
I can only imagine how Governor Doyle would have done under these same circumstances.

Hey Alice – if you’re going to complain about Walker not holding to a campaign promise inside of eight months, why aren’t you complaining about the jobs Obama promised after three years in office? For the first two years he had all the power in the house and senate and made the problem worse. At least Walker has done something positive in a short time frame, unlike your boy Obama.

Well if all you recall crazies would let him do his job instead of forcing him into campaign mode it just might help. I suppose you are use to it with a president who has never left campaign mode. Guess what government doesn’t create jobs!

Alice,
All Walker would have to do to meet that is change the expectation to : “Jobs created or saved”…like Obama uses. I’m sure he’s saved as at least that many by the way democrats count.

Okay Alice, let me ask you these questions. If Gov. Walker hadn’t signed Act 10, how many more jobs do you think public unions would have had added to their numbers? How many jobs do you think the private sector would have added? Do you believe our state’s budget woes were imaginary? If your answer to the last question is “yes”, then why couldn’t the state get it’s debt under control even through all the years with having a Democratic controlled Governor, Senate and Assembly during the most prosperous years?
At least Gov. Walker is making the hard choices with getting Wisconsin back on the right track, whereas Doyle and crew did nothing to curb the runaway spending and entitlement parade.

Wow, 100,000 new jobs in 57 states….Obama is such a smart president isn’t he? If GWB had said we had 57 states it would be splattered all over every newspaper and network, but Obama, he’s a smart fella! Must have been a smudge on the teleprompter or something.
This is about Obama too. You cannot expect Wisconsin to be insulated from the stinky Obama economy. I’d say we are doing pretty darn good in spite of the national economy. Yes, it hurts to balance ones budget, doesn’t it? After years of overspending and overpromising we are now budgeting like adults. VERY refreshing.

Hold the phone there Alice – you didn’t answer my questions. How many jobs would there been added to the public or private sector if Act 10 hadn’t been passed? You seem to keep contradicting yourself here. Earlier you said that Walker had only created 16,308 jobs and was 46,000 some jobs short for this year – now you’re saying he’s lost 15,000 jobs??? (If that number is true, you can bet the largest part of that 15,000 was in the public sector which needed to be reduced due to our debt.) Since you seem to have access to the numbers Alice, break it down for us here. Tell us how many jobs were private sector and how many were public. Show us some creditable evidence.
