With Americans increasingly likely to live well into their 80s, critics question whether paying lifetime pensions to retirees from age 55 or 60 is financially sustainable. Guaranteed pensions for relatively youthful government retirees paid in similar fashion to millions nationwide are contributing to nationwide friction with the public sector workers, most who no longer have access to such programs.

Taxpayers in the private sector are being raked over the coals by these slackers!

Government employes pay into their own well managed retirement. So far they have managed to stop Congress from raiding it, unlike in the private sector where the Kevin’s of the world have managed to destroy a lifetime of savings for too many people.. .

Why are taxpayers in the private sector forced to guarantee the value of the retirement accounts of slackers on the public payroll? Where is my guarantee?

You trash your guarantee every time you voted republican.
Also the private sector is not guaranteeing anything. The Federal, state or local governments are, through agreements and contracts is, just as the private sector used to be before the Republicans ruined things for the average worker.
You are every much a part of the 99% just as I am. The 1% do not care anymore about you than they do about me. It does not matter to them, you are as indistinguishable among the hoi polloi that is the average citizen as any of the ‘Great Unwashed’ for them to care. Deal with it.
