Now that one detective has more time, since he basically quit his other $20,xxx a year ‘dog catcher’ gig before the contract was up, he’ll be able to cover those extra detective duties that are waiting, without milking the overtime system. How he managed to be a full time dog catcher/compliance officer and a full time detective was always a mystery.

Is it really a loss when the Chief himself says in the interview and I quote “the duties of the job could be more “easily absorbed” by the lieutenant whose duties will include supervision of the detectives”.
