Not exactly a shock that ND state employees are dead last in pay. It does get tiring after a while when people get in your face stating you make $75,000 a year when you make 1/2 that( and this includes all benefits). The big money is the Federal Employees in Washington DC. Not the guy driving the snow plow here.

ND is infamous for low-balling employees in both the public and private sectors. Oil patch salaries have reflected what people really get paid paid elsewhere, and has caused McDonald’s wages to go to $15/hr to compete.
Why do you think college graduates get out of this state as soon as possible? They make 50% more starting everywhere else.

True and the other reason college graduates leave is there is little or no job opportunity here.

Our legislators should be ashamed of themselves. We have a huge budget surplus, but we save much of it for a “rainy day”. It’s not only raining for state employees, it’s pouring. If any legislators are reading this, doesn’t your chest swell with pride? North Dakota state empolyees are dead last!
