I simply do not like the huge fire hazard of a real tree. I question the 6 year life expectation of the artificial tree. I have had our artificial tree for 12 years and it is still in new condition.

The lighted trees are good for 3 years if youre lucky before the lights go out, and the box is good for about a year.
But a regular unlit artificial tree will last forever.
As i recall, that was the selling point for artificial trees in the past.
