Local 4-H experiments with wind energy technology

Thousands of youth from around the country joined local 4-H members as they gathered at the Irving Community Center in West Duluth recently for the annual National Youth Science Day (NYSD) experiment. This year’s challenge to learn about wind energy by building a small turbine.
By designing their own wind turbines and then testing the designs, an interest was sparked in the minds of many young adults about the possibilities of careers in science, especially during a time when the nation has the potential to claim a position as a leader in scientific exploration.
