This is simply fantastic! I stand firm when I state the swimming program (Mitchell Aquatic Club) be dubbed the most successful athletic program in Mitchell. I suppose you could measure success with a Mike Miller marking basketball, but that seems limiting overall when you take into consideration all of the young men and women who play the sport whom do not play later in college.
I discovered recently MAC sent 75% of their graduating seniors to Div 1 schools on scholarship this past Spring. WOW! Allowing these young men and women to not only continue, what is deemed as a lifetime skill (you don’t see many people in their 80′s playing football, but you do see them swimming for exercise later in life) but with such a great opportunity to receive an education at the same time. Football, basketball, and hockey are all great opportunities and prove positive results in a child’s life overall, but we the community could get a better ROI if it allocates just a tiny bit of its resources into programs that have proven results like swimming.
