After nearly four years of meeting monthly with the hope of creating an activity center for Jamestown, the Two Rivers Activity Center Committee has been making slow progress.

Potential features would include an indoor water park, indoor tennis and racquetball courts, an area for gymnastics, day care and even a sports bubble, similar to complexes in Fargo or Bismarck.
A sports bubble would be a climate-controlled complex that could host everything from a driving range to a softball game.
Hogan said the ones in Bismarck and Fargo have been a financial success.
“During the winter months they don’t have enough time slots to fit everything in,” he said.
That’s because they have at least 6 times the population base and are growing rapidly.

That’s the Jamestown way, to be envious and jealous of whatever Bismarck and Fargo have. Then, after they build it and fails, someone will have to bail it out.

Apparently the Fargo way is to despise a smaller city so much that you have to go on their paper’s website and bash them every day because you have nothing better to do.
No, I take that back, that is just the Fred Brown way.
This center would bring a welcome addition for young people in Jamestown.

Finally, some positive comments on a project for Jamestown. The committee was smart to take their time and look at other similiar activity centers.
They are doing this the right way.
