While I believe Williston could reach 40,000 in the next 5 years, I really doubt Minot will be 50,000 let alone 100,000 in the next few years. Minot just went through a devastating flood that displaced 11,000 people and damaged 4,000 homes. Minot has not and is not building housing to even accomodate the 4,000 homes lost or damaged. I will be surprised if Minot even has 40,000 people living there anymore. Minot officials also like to keep saying they are the oil hub for this boom. They are not, and never will be. I believe they said Williston has nearly 400 oil companies located in Williston…Minot has maybe 30 at the most. Even Stanley and Tioga have more oil companies located in their towns than Minot. Sorry Minot!
