Farm state lawmakers moving to create unprecedented farm subsidy program

The subsidy, free insurance that would cover farmers’ “shallow crop losses” before their paid insurance kicks in, has been pushed by corn and soybean farmers who could benefit the most from the program. It would pay when farmers income falls as little as 10%; sounds like a plan that Peterson would support. When is congress going to look out for the taxpayer?
