Like most people, I’m not exactly sure what is motivating Mr. Hanson to make his donation offer. However, the timing of the offer (just before a referendum to buy other land) is sufficiently suspicious to get the attention of the conspiracy-minded folks among us. I’ve heard that the school administration believes that this might be a nefarious plan to scuttle their dog-track referendum. But they are a bit jumpy out on Brakke Drive, thinking that the “Vote No” gang is always cooking up plots to foil them. It seems a bit unlikely to me, but as the editor states, truth is stranger than fiction. No matter what, this will be entertaining to watch.
