So, with another potentially harsh winter on the horizon, now is smart time to ready the family vehicle for the snow and bitter cold that accompanies it.

Oh? And I suppose my granddad, who has lived here since he was born in 1926, has had to replace his engines due to this issue several times, eh? No, you’re wrong. He didn’t use a block heater and neither will I! Using a block heater only puts hot oil through a frozen car. Now if anything is stupid, that is!

How does a block heater put hot oil thru a frozen car? The block heater warms the coolant which circulates thru the engine waming the entire engine. I suppose you don’t use anti-freeze either. When it is so cold that the oil won’t circulate is that good for your engine? The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
