Unfortunately, you only need to read the first two paragraphs to see the real reason why he is being freed. It is simply because of his medical problems, specifically myeloma. The costs of housing aging inmates drastically increases as they get older because of health-related issues. The decision to parole this individual has nothing to do with him being a model prisoner or not being a danger to society. It is strictly about the dollars and shifting the responsibility of costly medical treatment out of the prison system.
