Worthington facility hopeful of spring re-opening despite financial woes
WORTHINGTON Worthington Country Club is closing its doors after 92 years of operations due to an inability to meet financial obligations. Continue Reading

I think some people are too emotionally attached to this property. The tax payers have been losing on this golf course for awhile now. Go golf at some other locations. Why move when you can drive to several golf courses within 30 minutes from here? One is less than 5 minutes away.
I think the disparaging comments about double wide trailers are unnecessary. People need a place to live more than a place to whack some balls.
I’m thinking what a nice location the WCC would make for a community center and or library, and there might be enough room for a trailer park even. hehe

Naughtydog….get your facts straight. This is a PRIVATE golf course, if anything they have added to the tax base. Even though I’m not a member, I feel this is just another example of where we are headed…just another packing plant town. The working population that we are drawing here are not the ones joining a golf course be it municipal or a country club. Prairie View is probably not far behind(that is where tax $$ is being wasted). Yeh, just what we need, another trailer park. hehe

The Worthington Country Club has struggled for years to keeep up the membership due to our changing society like so many smaller cities. I don’t know what the members considered in the closure of the club, however some cities facing similar circumstances have voted to change from a Semi-Private club to a “Public” course.
With a Public course it opens up so many opportunities.
Good Luck to the members… would hate to see that area be used for any other purpose.
