I can not say enough to show my gratitude to the oncology unit in Alexandria.
In March of 2007 I was here to spend some time with my parents. I lived in Colorado and decided I would like to get a routine check up by a Doctor while I was here.
My brother in law suggested Dr. Florell at the Broadway clinic. Everything checked out fine and as I was getting up to leave he asked if I would like to get a colonoscopy. (who wants to say yes to that?) I did say yes and scheduled a appointment with Doctor McCrery. Who found I had a large tumor. I was scheduled for surgery the very next day and Doctor Billy Glade removed the cancer and informed me that it was in stage 4.
Now I must say here I had no symptoms of any kind. After my discharge I was sent to St Cloud to see a oncologist. (there were non in the area at that time.) a port was put in my arm and I was sent home to have chemo.
I met Kevin at the emergency center at the hospital. Kevin was the one that was to give me my chemo treatments. He was very thorough and took me through everything that I would experience.
In September 2007 I completed my treatment and prepared for my follow up routine.
I was told that the new oncology unit was going to open at Douglas County Hospital and that I could go there for my follow up exams.
It was my pleasure to meet Doctor Marian Reflores.
I can’t find the words to describe the care I receive from her and her entire staff. As anyone recovering from cancer will tell you every little pain or any different feeling in their body brings a scare. The staff treats me like I am their only patient. They check on me assure me and most of all care about me.
I see them give the same treatment to everyone that comes as a patient.
I am now a resident of Alexandria.
