Norwegian oil company Statoil ASA said Monday it has agreed to buy Texas-based Brigham Exploration Co. for $4.4 billion in cash, giving it control of fields in North Dakota.

This is good news for the ND environment because the Norwegians are excellent drillers as seen in the North Sea where they don’t have BP type spills. Is it true that most ND oil is going to China? If so it seems foreign ownership of ND oil would only increase that arrangement.
