If you know of two dogs that match the description, it would be helpful if you came forward. At least the dogs could be quarantined to check for rabies. This county needs some kind of animal control or ordinances. And no, county board, a shotgun/rifle is not always the answer.

I can tell you that it won’t do much good to call the cops. They have been called before and nothing ever happens. If it were me, the problem would be solved. Very simple, kill them, its self-defense.

Exactly my point, Jim! We need some kind of laws in our county for Dogs at Large, or some animal control, or something! The law enforcers hands are tied, when there’s nothing to enforce. Just think, we advertize the Heartland Trail all over the state, but how many riders do you think we will have visit our area if we get a reputation for dog attacks? Besides, the last thing we need are vigilante gun toters running around the trail, shooting at who knows what.

Instead of asking for things on the Enterprise website, I find it to be more beneficial if you went to a Board meeting and spoke to the County Commissioner’s about these issues and having them put in place an ordinance or two…
And FYI Mr. Magoo – How often is it when a Law Enforcement Officer is several miles away, and when they drive down the trail looking for these animals that they are gone? Don’t tell me they didn’t do anything, they made the effort of driving down the trail to look for them, but hard to look for something that might not be there… and I am pretty sure, Sheriff Cory Aukes located at least 1, or if not both dogs and brought them into the Animal Shelter! So before you start running the Law Enforcement community down, maybe you should get your facts straight!
