A man who reportedly was swimming Monday afternoon in an off-limits section of the St. Louis River was found dead in the river later in the evening.

So if the conservation office was so worried about people getting swept down the river if MN power decides to open the damn a bit, wouldn’t it make sense to have a warning siren of some type?
I mean, the area is well known as a great swimming hole and no amount of patroling is going to prevent people from going there. Heck, people kayak that location all the time, but nobody kicks them out.
