The Red plan has taken everything else, why not my church and all the disruption it has and will continue to create? The district has no conscience, and I feel this is deplorible in forcing my church to sell or fight Eminate Domain which they (the church) cannot afford! Shame on all of you!

How are the class sizes in the new school? I bet bigger than in the old school. That’s not progress.

Shiney buildings are beautiful and we can all look at them impressed with the Atriums, new carpet and space, but if you have no money for programs or teachers, what good do they do? The Duluth News Tribune and School District PR person is doing a good job promoting the schools with huge front page (and second page) articles with lots of large photos, but you won’t get students back with beautiful buildings alone. Soon the threats will start from the School Board that if you don’t pass the operational levy this fall they will cut even more programs and add even more students per classrooms (good thing they made the classrooms bigger) – What the District needs to do is get the students back by attempting to focus back on education, teachers and programs. When the students come back, the money will follow. Until the District corrects the distrust and begins to focus on what goes on inside the classroom instead of how it looks, I doubt a levy will pass. We were told the whole Red Plan was done because they said consolidating would free up more money for programs. When exactly are those savings supposed to appear?

It’s just amazing how extravagant you can be when money has no limit. If you need more you just go get it. This is what we get when the company who made the plans and is managing the project gets a percentage of the spending. Thank goodness they don’t have to worry about those pesky taxpayers having to vote on it.
