Residents expressed many concerns at a town hall meeting Thursday with Rep. Rick Berg, R-N.D, with the most localized being Essential Air Service.

“I voted for the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) bill and it did eliminate them,” Berg said. “Quite frankly, the bill didn’t go anywhere, it was not passed in Senate.” – This is no excuse for voting the way he did. He’s a party man and that’s all he’ll ever be. He doesn’t care about North Dakota.
“Increasing taxes and eliminating the Bush-era tax cuts for the rich are not part of the solution, he said.” – That’s odd, because I doubt Rick Berg is as rich as Warren Buffet and the multiple other billionaires that say it will help. He just doesn’t want to upset the other Republicans or pay more taxes himself!
“I hope that you would kind of think about people back home here, and don’t jerk the rug from out under us …” – This is going to happen to us, it already has. He doesn’t care about us.

Fact: Berg is worth over $20 million, he benefits from the Bush tax cuts and would rather cut programs, like the EAS, so Jamestown would have no air travel what-so-ever rather then chip in the over $75 BILLION that the wealthy could contribute to paying off the national debt. Though Berg doesn’t use the words “wealthy” or “rich” to describe himself, he does say “Job-Creator”, however, has he ever mentioned how many jobs he’s created with the business that has earned him his millions? The answer is not many, instead he’d rather eliminate jobs, such as those working at our local airport.
