City employees are the real assest of the city. The dedicated men and women of the Police Department who give more of themselves than money could every compensate for.
Look back at the last 12 months and you will see where the city is spending money hand over fist on projects that are not essential. In an earlier article they cut the police department by $40,000 and an officer position, while continuing to dump money into a golf course that is not profitable and even increased the golf course budget by $20,000.
Now in this article the city tries to justify the freezing of employee wages by blaming it on the levy. Who are they kidding?
You do not balance the budget on the backs of dedicated employees. Some very very poor decisions have been made on how money is being spent.
Are the council members (who have primary jobs or other income) going to give up their pay and benifits?
I bet not.
