I would have to question why it’s called “gods country” if we drink to much (cirrhosis generally comes from excessive drinking), suffer from depression more than others, suffer from heart disease which generally comes from eating all wrong and lack of physical excercise.
If we’re truly enjoying “gods country”, it must be from the vantage point of the couch with a beer in our hand while feeling depressed…..not exactly a ringing endorsement of our culture and lifestyle up here.
Anybody have any ideas why we’re in this situation ? I don’t think lack of healthcare availability explains it all since in most cases we use healthcare to treat problems that already exist.

I think it has to do with the fact that Duluth is a boring city and people find bars and rinking to be the only fun things to do. Bigger cities have more options and unfortunately, Duluth doesn’t have many.
