In 2006 President Bush Jr. proposed cutting funds for Veterans Affairs by 3.4% or roughly $1 billion in his proposed budget. Republicans assist veterans in their own special little ways.

Veterans affairs is a very large scope of programs. A budget decrease just shows that Bush was willing to make hard decisions to keep us as far out of debt as possible with everything that was going on at the time.
