Jeez, the Debbie Downers are out trolling the Forum early today. You need to get out of the bitter barn and come play in the hay.
I think Michelle was one of the best newscasters in a pretty bleak market. And as for suddenly being “let go”, that seems to be a typical trait in the FM area. The best employees are suddenly “let go” usually by a bitter, insecure manager. And those employees move on to better jobs that pay more than what the manager was making. Life if good

I am looking forward to her columns, however when you say that the best employees are “suddenly” let go, let’s not forget that “Too Tall Tom” was let go after quite a few DUIs. Ms. Turnberg has had her moment as well. I like her, but we all have our downs.

Best part about her is we don’t know her political affiliations! Therefore some of the most biased bloggers don’t have reason to spout off yet either. Not sure how it will go but I’m anxious to find out. She was good on screen even if a bit full of herself off screen at times. It will be interesting to see how she can avoid the political agendas, as she claims she will, when we’re approaching such a pivotal point in our history.

Wow, lots of negativity out there today! I think Michelle is awesome and I was really disgusted when she was mysteriously “let go” from her job at KVLY. I saw absolutely nothing wrong with her performance, so I think it was personal with the management. Anyway, that’s in the past and this is a new opportunity for her and I think it’s great! Good luck to you Michelle, I’ll be interested to read your column!

The only real curiousity about Michelle that anyone has, is to hear the “backstory” and the real reason she believes she was let go when her audience thought she was great.
Michelle if you think the interest in hearing from you is anything other than this, you are mistaken. I thought you were a great local newscaster, and I am extremely cynical towards those who let you go.
Please don’t squander this opportunity to take those to task in your industry who SEVERELY need to be publically called out on the carpet for their mismanagement. This area has lost several great talented individuals in the past decade, and much of it can be laid at the feet of a few individuals.

It is nice to see Ms. Turnberg back in the news. It would be beneficial for the community if she would speak her mind about her recent dwi. Alcohol abuse and dwi are serious concerns for many people in the FM area. She could do a four part series. 1 – How alcohol affected her life and job. 2 – How alcohol affected her children. 3 – What sort of rehab did she do? 4 – MADD, Mothers Against Drunk Drivers. She could truly speak her mind covering these topics. There is a new crop of freshmen in college who could use some advice before they go off to drink and drive. Ms. Turnberg’s voice could save a life!

If you are going to have this open for comments, then you should allow comments that are both in favor of Michelle and her column and those who aren’t. It is silly now to read all the comments about “negative” comments and not have any negative comments.
I did read most of the negative comments earlier today and I didn’t agree with them.
Michelle is no average person. The Forum has gone out of their way to promote her new column. She and the Forum should have thick enough skin to allow for most if not all of the negative comments that were here before.

Congrats to Michele. She was always professional on TV and I think she do a fine job with the Forum. Now did the Forum snatch her up because KTHI is there competitor or was she hired on her merits? Now I know she had a hard time working with her co-anchor and he was always a bit creepy toward her, so I question “letting her go”. Seems to be a bit over reactionary to me. I’m happy she has a new job though and she will do just fine!

I really enjoyed Michelle on the news and was disappointed when I came back from an extended vacation and she was gone. Alvin – I didn’t take it as being negative – she’s human and has made mistakes – we all do. I am looking forward to reading her column and wish her the best in this new endeavor.

I think Michelle did a fabulous, professional job doing the KVLY news. However, her prima donna attitutes and treatment of staff off camera left a lot to be desired.
