Randy’s Ramblings: The election is over; no end in sight to the recrimination

By the time this hits the press, Tuesday’s recall elections will have been decided. Well, most of them should be decided anyway. Considering the vote-counting problems that plagued April’s state Supreme Court election, there’s no certainty that the results will be cut and dried. Continue Reading

I wouldn’t expect anything different from Randy’s Ramblings…just more rambling. Randy predicts a Walker recall…I think he might want to consider that after next week’s results.
“They say the country’s broke, but it’s hard to believe given the millions being poured into political campaigns.”
Typically when elected officials say that we are broke they are referring to governmental budgets. Our federal government is in debt to the tune of $14 trillion, yet they keep spending like drunken sailors. They are bankrupting our children and either don’t know it or they don’t care.
Governor Walker and the legislature recognized that a $3.4 billion structural deficit is not a good thing and passed a budget that addressed it. For that he has been demonized. I guess you guys think that burying our children in debt is the way to go.
Governmental bodies didn’t fund these elections Randy, the teachers’ union, AFSCME, SEIU and AFL-CIO largely funded Shelly Moore’s campaign. The following article provides more detail, though all the data is not in yet.

It is now becoming clear as to see how these unions are far from broke. We learned just the day after the election that Hudson School District is saving $1 million in health insurance costs because they were finally able to bid out the contract. Just think what the district could have done with that money over the last 20 years! All those crying for a new high school in Hudson should be ticked off, but many of them are big union supporters. Don’t forget to keep writing your dues checks. The unions have taken advantage of taxpayers for years. THAT is how the unions helped fund Ms. Moore’s campaign. Of course, they may be a bit more broke now, but something tells me they have plenty of cash stored up for the next election cycle.
But his grand finale took the cake.
“I personally hold the Tea Party Republicans responsible for the slide that has shrunk workers’ 401k plans and threatens to increase interest rates. They ignored warnings of grave economic consequences and manufactured the debt limit crisis — all the while refusing to consider any increases in revenue. They want the nation’s most vulnerable to bear all of the cost of righting the financial ship.”
I understand that Randy used to be a public school teacher. Let’s hope that he didn’t teach economics.
