Everything I have read so far indicates that Dr. McCallum does not dispute the fact that 180 students were enrolled in courses without their consent. What’s not clear is why. But who cares? Erroneously counting them as part of your total enrollment is one thing. That could be ‘inconsequential’ and ‘minor’ as his attorney suggests. However, creating a course, admitting and enrolling the students, and giving them all “A” grades is a whole other thing. That was intentional and deserves to be examined. The only people who deserve an “A” grade at this point are the faculty, staff, and students of DSU who have refrained from making a circus out of this whole incident. Too bad we can’t say the same of their former leader.
