Costco definitely appears to cater to the more affluent businesses/customers. How else could they afford to give 2 percent cash back to their “Executive Members” based upon the total amount of their purchase each year. One person on the Inforum.com site mentioned she saw a listing for 8 pounds of ground beef selling for $98. Ninety-eight dollars for eight pounds of ground beef? I certainly hope that was a misprint of some kind.
What The Forum’s story neglected to mention is that West Fargo was more willing to tweak their city ordinances in order to allow Costco to sell liquor in their building; inasmuch as in Fargo it’s against city ordinance to sell off sale liquor in the same building that groceries are sold in. I’m sure the liquor store part would be located in a separately walled-off area of the building, but I’m told by people in the know that West Fargo would not require a separate entrance to the liquor part of the store.
