The Wisconsin Department of Military affairs confirms a proclamation issued by President Obama for flags to be lowered July 25 until further notice to honor former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, retired Army General John Shalikashvili, who died the morning of Saturday, July 23, following complications from a stroke he suffered in August 2004. This is going to piss off Alex, the maintenance guy, again. He already has to make two or three trips out to the flagpole at work to raise and lower the flag at Walker’s whim. I’m starting to believe there are some govt folks in kahoots with the company that makes flagpole pulleys and ropes. They’re getting worn out.
