Truth? LOL!
If the vatican was a private corporation instead of a religious power, it would have been disbanded, and its leaders would be facing child abuse complicity charges in the international court.
All the apologists can’t change the appalling objective record. The truth is that while many catholics are good people and do good things, the leadership of their church is morally defunct.
People like zardoz/solon will never admit that — and they will vilify their favorite targets (gays, atheists, etc.) to divert from the reality — but such is blind faith in dogma!
Hopefully, the world will grow out of this one day.

Somehow I knew you would show up. Cue the usual drivel from the rabid hater of Christianity. I point out that the Vatican did not violate Irish law and in fact instituted rules that required following reporting requirements. You just say you want the Church “disbanded.” We know how atheists “disband” religion. The gulags and camps are full of Christians. You are the ones who vilify. I just give you the facts.

LOL! I guess blind faith morphs into blind rage more easily than I thought!
Zardoz/Solon — whatever your pompous moniker is — keep it up! You claim to be a lawyer with an IQ of 142, and the holder of two masters degrees, yet you apparently cannot read and understand simple sentences. Your rants probably do more to educate readers about the problems with religion than a whole division of Richard Dawkins could do!
BTW, this “rabid hater of Christianity” has numerous Christian colleagues and friends — including a priest.

I’m a bit rusty on the bible — who was that guy who was into denial?
BTW, wasn’t #9 on your favorite top 10 list something about dishonesty?

Your knowledge of the Bible is minimal at best. I give you facts, deal with them.

A new law:
In any online discussion where the topic is the Catholic Church, its leaders or beliefs, as the discussion thread grows longer, the probability of a reference to pedophile priests approaches 1 (100%).
Corollary 1: The reference will be not only invalid but inappropriate and abusive.
Corollary 2: The earlier the reference is made, the greater the probability the rest of the discussion will follow the reference down a rabbit hole.

Maybe the probability is so high because:
1. There’s been so much abuse.
2. There’s been so much cover up.
3. There’s been so much blame on others.
4. There’s been so little regard for the victims.
I’ll make a deal zardoz — if you desist from posting bigoted and nonsensical trumpets from your solon — I’ll desist from commenting on then.
Somehow, I don’t think you will be able to refrain!
