This is what *fair* would be: the poor and working class of Minnesota gives up billions of dollars in state services (cuts) while the rich pay maybe a 1/2 or 3/4 of a billion more in taxes (revenue increases) but the Republicans wouldn’t know what “fair” or “compromise” is if it hit them square in the face.
The Republicans will pay dearly at the polls, their candidates will go down in flames in 2012, because of the obscene school payment shift – which they own 100% this time around.
Hot debate. What do you think?

Randy, read closer. There is nothing paid fpor until later. As I understand this we pushed back 700 million payment to schools (again) and finaced bonds from tobacco settlement for the other 700 million. We will still have to pay these amounts in the future. What the state gained was stem cell research is not banned, state employees are not laid off, and at least a 500 million dollar bonding bill (which party is trying to put people to work). I hate to sound like Harold, but if we again face a deficet in our budget, I will just have to wait for 2012 and the people to speak.

What Dayton did today was his only option. I hope Democrats realize that.

gov moneybags dayton, when HE came out of the meeting was really stressed out. This was shown live on TV . Am glad HE lasted long enough to explain the MN DFL platform. For awhile thought for sure HE was not going to be able to hang in there, but HE did. HE stayed loyal to the MN DFL party, even tho– they wouldn’t go near HIM for a long time. This took place before HE won over Marge K, then all at once , HE became the Man of the Party. . Good job of spin, I would say.

Edward/Harold. Since they finished the budget Bills the Speaker of the House and Senate Majority Leader have said in numorous soundbytes that THEY have presented a fair budget bill to the Governor and that THEY can’t understand why it is not being signed. Harold how can you hang the DFL and Governor on this when it is the GOP claiming ownership of the Budget?
You don’t like what is in the Budget Harold, contact your legistlator. I believe you are represented up there by Sen. Gimse and Rep. Anderson. Tell them what you think of THEIR budget!

Harold/Edward has just realized that he may be needing help from the State as he s getting closer to wanting or needing entitlements. Remember, he only likes them if he needs or wanys to use them!
