This can’t sit well with the Unions. Weix didn’t even have a campaign and he nearly beat Moore.

I wasn’t able to vote since I had to……get this….WORK. But I will be sure to vote for Sheila (even if I have to take a day off) for the real election. This is a good sign, since this guy didn’t even try to campaign…….HAHAHA!

You do realize that the time to vote was from about 8 – 7 right? I doubt you worked that whole time. PLUS every workplace has to give you time off to go vote if you request it.
Hot debate. What do you think?

Actually, the time was from 7 AM -8 PM in most locations. Absentee ballots are a must for folks who work long days in the cities. Now we know a government employee probably wouldn’t work those hours, but it is not unusual for someone in the private sector to do so. The reality, CG, is that it is not always possible to leave work to go vote. State statutes read that employers must give up to 3 hours off, the employee must notify employer in advance and pay can obviously be lost for that time. I doubt that government employees get their pay docked to go vote, but private sectors employees might. The best bet is to vote absentee by going to your clerk in advance of the election or get an absentee ballot application and they will mail a ballot to your house.

Question for Shelly Moore supporters.. Why is it that she never mentions in any of her ads/commercials that she is on the board of directors for the Union.. hmmmmmmmmm

Pretty pathetic showing for Moore given the hundreds of thousands of dollars spent on advertising and negative campaigning against Sheila. Shelly is not playing well in the 10th, but we could have told them that she wouldn’t had they asked us. This whole recall thing is ticking a bunch of people off and it showed yesterday.
We have enough drama in Madison….we don’t need to send down a drama queen to represent us. We need the continued strong voice of Sheila Harsdorf. Can’t wait until August 9th!!

15,000+ protest votes! Awesome turn out!
I heard there were about 23,000 signatures on the recall petition for Shelly Moore, so why were there only 18,000 votes cast for her? 5,000 people changed their minds once they learned who she really stands with; the WI Mafia!

I put my money on no college students as to how she got all the signatures and how she got the lack of votes.

funny- that many protestors and only that many votes- shows that 1. many were out of area signatures (union told them to sign), 2. possibly duplicate signatures or mis-counted
One more reason to have voter ID…

For all those out there who support Moore and the right of state employees and teachers to colectively bargain, please answer this: How does the average citizen benefit from those employees being mmbers of unions?
Personally, as a long-time union member myself (and a former union steward who finally saw the light) I can tell you that, in the 21st century, the only people who benefit from union membership are labor unions themselves and incompetent employees whose jobs the unoins protect.
Dedicated, hard working employees with a strong work ethic gain nothing from being a union member! Most of them having nothing to show for the $1000.00/year or more, that the union withholds from their paychecks.

Double signatures, out of state signatures, probably my 7 year old signature from school. Many reasons why there are more signatures than votes.
I say they just are starting to see the light. Reciprocity to soon be reinstated, hopefully new Stillwater bridge, jobs being created, businesses coming to WI, I could go on and on and on!!

I saw this article on wispolitics.com today. Does anyone know if it is true?
“(Hudson) Union activist turned-recall candidate Shelly Moore tried to cover up that she decided to go to an NEA Convention in Chicago over a Hudson parade by having her parade representatives lie to the Hudson Boosters and knowingly deceive its organizers to gain entry. …”
