Republicans critical of Dayton keeping chef, gov. paying for chef
July 8, 2011 at 5:22 am in West Central Tribune
ST. PAUL, Minn. – While Minnesota state government remains shut down for an eighth day Friday, some Republicans are criticizing DFL Gov. Mark Dayton for keeping his chef and housekeeper on the job at the governor’s residence.

Give it up already GOP, and just work with the gov. These are distractions mean’t to hurt the gov because he will not roll over and play dead for the GOP. Since Nov there has not been one job bill produced by the Republicans, but here is what they did come up with; They attacked the safety nets for Americans, and began an assault on the teachers, and other state workers by singling out the unions, and pensions. The GOP want more of us to contribute more of our hard earned money to healthcare, and Pensions. What makes me laugh is they are the ones who cried like little babies at townhall meetings, even going as far as disrupting the meetings, assaulting some, and going as far as to write racial slurs on walls, and banners. So if we do not need healthreform, why now are they asking us to contribute more from our paychecks? Then the GOP wants to privatize SS and medicare, another big mistake which puts more money into the hands of big corporate, and we have already seen the greed and mismanagement of other state and governement departments privatized. When I see the GOP giving their speeches of conservative spending I see a bunch of people dressed up like carperbaggers who preach one thing but do the opposite. The GOP want to take the tax breaks from the elderly, while cutting SS payments, because they claim cuts need to be made. I remind everyone that it was the GOP who have taken us to this point with the war of lies, and the bailouts to all those banks and insurance companies who failed, yet were rewarded with our tax dollars. It was their party who allowed the housing market to collapse, which in turn caused the recession and loss of jobs, along with high unemployment. Now they have the nerve to blame the President and have a line up of some radical GOP candidates such as Bachman who recently made the statement black children would have been better off living in slavery now running for the whitehouse. The crazyness continues, and its becomming more of a side show then a party who is suppose to be in the peoples best interest. But if your wealthy don’t worry Wis gov Walker won’t hit you over the head with his baseball bat if you decide to protest this madmans dictatorship. I sincerely hope they recall this friend of the wealthy, because the common working person is going to suffer.

Breathe Jimmy/Joe, breathe! You and Edward/Harold are polar opposites but you both rant on and on. We need compromise on both sides of this political fiasco in Minnesota and the United States to get anything accomplished. Doesn’t seem to be part of too many officials’ vocabulary anymore and it’s spreading like wildfire to their constituents. But, if it makes you feel better!

I have to admit that it would be easier to read Jimmy’s comments if he’d put in a few paragraph breaks, but he does write coherent sentences – in comparison are the truly nonsensical gibberish rants of e/h/r.

To Governor Gooffy’s supporters: The Republican 6% increase in funding is reasonable and fair! He declined the tempary funding PROPOSED BY REPUBLICANS! WHY???Dayton chose to shut down Minnesota because he saw political gain for Democrats. Republicans will be up for reelection in 2012 and Governor Goofy in 2014. Too bad he has so little concern for the 20,000+ state workers unemployed! However, Goofy did manage to keep his chef and maid working!!!!!

Turn the channel johnboy and find out the facts first. All I’ve heard from the House and Senate “leaders” are lies – they blame the Governor without bringing up all their social issues they try attaching to budget bills.

Nora, what social issues? Do they cost money and how much? I really want to understand why a 6% increase is not enough and I am convincible if good reasons are provided.
Thank you in advance. Bac, I grew up in Litchfield but have no know relatives in the area.

Bac, I have always wondered what Jimmy Carter’s second term would be like. So familiar, 4 trillion dollar increase in debt, 4 dollar gas, and 9.2% unemployment.
Do not be over confident about President Obama’s second term.

Boy, for someone who doesn’t wish to be involved with any of my comments, you certainly jumped on this one, just as soon as you thought I was offline! Reminds me of a defunct poster.
Well, nevermind that….
I’m not overconfident that BO will have a second term, but I am confident that the GOP, aka, teaparty, will never be able to field a belieivable candidate.
Wonder away about a second term for the peanut farmer. That should keep you busy….
