it’s a shame that a week later, we are hearing about this story. yesterday, there was a search party looking for her without success. would be nice to see more support from law enforcement. also, why not publish a picture of this guy? it helps more than reading a name… kinda sad the daily globe posts pictures for “suspects” of passing counterfeit money without any proof whatsoever yet no pictures of the missing woman or the man in question… very interesting…

What’s to “dislike” in aarr’s comment? Really.
Aarr is absolutely correct. If this were an “Amber Alert” for a child, you can be certain that law enforcement would have published pictures of the victim, the person of interest, the car with license number, etc.
Why did it take an entire week for this to surface? If this were your loved one, you’d want publicity much faster than that.
How is the public supposed to help locate this missing person based on the descriptions provided? That would be the point of this article, no? To help find her?
I hope the authorities will now publish some pictures here and in Iowa. There is everything to gain by doing so. There are people who are willing to help.

Calvin — WHAT? Your comments are way over the top! I doubt you’re in law enforcement, either. Or are you?
You’re making wild assumptions here, too, which I guess makes an a– out of you, as well.
Neither of us is “criticizing” law enforcement, although you should know as well as I that they are not infallible. We have a right to ask questions. How are we spreading “disinfomation” (sic)?
Law enforcement relies heavily on the general public to help solve crimes and/or mysteries. How do you propose they would be able to resolve this one, given the information they provided?

This is my fourth attempt to post a reply. Apparently the Daily Globe does not want me to provide the public with links to see pictures of both the missing woman and the person of interest. Makes me wonder even more… It doesn’t appear as if they wanted to help.

Now that it seems that I can reply, I’ll say I’m not criticizing, I’m just saying what I see and what I know. I know that police likes to keep some details to themselves, that’s how things work. But if police needs the public to help with tips and information, there are many more details we need to know. Again, where are the pictures? Why weren’t we informed until after a week? How are we supposed to feel safe?
I am not playing a police officer nor a CSI agent. I’m just a humble citizen who wants to help a neighbor in need. I wish everybody felt the same, but sometimes skin color or a last name really DO make a difference… This is a sad world.

Unfortunately this case unlike others has been treated very lightly. Everyone can see the reason why, being a latina woman who has to face this “treatment” on a daily basis due to skin color, looks or apearance. It’s a shame how much ignorance we have in our town. Regardless, hopefully they find Lucia soon since we obviously gave him plenty of time to run away!
