The Turtle River can be dangerous. Back in the late 60′s or very early 70′s, a friend of the family (he was in the Navy and had just returned from a tour of duty off the coast of Viet Nam) and his wife were swimming in the Turtle River. He dove under the surface and never came up. It never should have happened, but it did. No rational explanation. Be careful people!
