What use are ordinances if they are not enforced? Any parent worth a grain of salt will tell you that children who are given empty threats will continue the bad behavior. The secret to changing bad behavior is follow through. No need to make more rules. Just enforce and follow through with the rules already in place.
K.I.S.S. That is an acronym for Keep It Simple Stupid or Keep It Short and Simple.

Naughtydog, here’s one answer to your question. The city is doing what it always does when there is a blight to our community……come up with a NEW law/ordinace that tends to mess with the average Joe/Jane who has always followed the rules but ignores the real rule breakers. Why? Because Heaven forbid they don’t want to offend certain groups (slum lords, people that don’t mow, fix broken windows..ect……) so instead they focus on the easy targets. Try parking on your own freshly mowed yard in front of your nicely kept home to wash the car or truck. Wait about 2 minutes and you’ll have someone stopping to say you can’t park there. All this while properties around you look like downtown Detroit or East LA.
But hey, we can’t offend people, they may feel like we are picking on them. We’ll just give them chance after chance until the city has to foot the bill to buy the shack and tear it down……voila, another parking lot.

I agree, if we can afford the welfare, we should be able to afford a trial! I got buried the other day on the speed trap thing with things like, there is no such thing, it’s not about the money, and it’s about safety, and on and on. Well Calvin’s post here sure seems to contradict those theories… it’s about the money?
