I own Popular Mechanics book series, it has helped me a lot in life..
This could be about Icelanders, too. Love it! I think there is something to be said for the old-fashioned, stoicism that our European/Scandinavian ancestors possessed. A lot of today’s problems would not exist if people adopted that mindset.

Mom was a German from Russia product. Some of her favorite sayings were “You’re gonna eat it and your gonna like it!!!” and “You’ll never be too old to fit across my knee!!!!” This explains my eating problem. Chips and cheeseburgers taste a lot better than the liver and cabbage that we “had to like….OR ELSE!” And at 230 lb, I would crush her 80 year-old knee if she got the paddle out. Can you say “win-win”? :-/

My grandma’s famous words were “Shape up or I’m going to knock you into next week.” 100% German. She definitely could have been a co-author of this book.
