The Preservation Alliance has cost the taxpayers a lot more than $25,000. Hundreds of thousands in utility costs heating and cooling unusable space for the years they fought this and millions in construction costs due to inflation. Now they’re crying because they lost a few grand after they didn’t drop their petition for an EAW? Sorry, it’s hard for me to feel sympathetic.

A person who truly believes in what they say wouldn’t hide behind a mask, or are you afraid of the backlash? The Jackson Preservation Alliance first met in June 2010, yet you will charge them with these costs? That building wasn’t owned by the county commissioners, it was owned by the all the taxpayers of Jackson County and they voted not to have it destroyed. I guess the county commissioners think they know more than the President of the United States. The Exceutive Director of the Preservation Alliance of MN was recently commended in Washington DC for her work in the MN legislation of tax credits to preserve buildings because preservation creates more JOBS than building new. I guess the commissioners that voted to not preserve all have a job and don’t care about anyone else.
