FARGO – Take a look at the map on the front page of today’s sports section. It’s the one packaged with Jeff Kolpack’s story that compares the Big Sky Conference, future home for University of North Dakota athletics, and the Summit League, the five-year-old home for North Dakota State athletics.

Schenpf – A better headline to the UND/Big Sky story would have been, The Sky is Falling.
Stupidity thy name is Carlson and why the media is not investigating this guy and his real reasons for writing the nickname law (he’s from Fargo and NDSU alumni) is a real tragedy that UND has to live with and suffer from.
Hot debate. What do you think?

That’s rogjt/ It’s Carlson fault, it’s NDSU’s fault, it’s the NCAA’s fault and now it’s the Big Sky’s fault but it’s never, never, never UND’s fault.

I am a proud NDSU alumni. I graduated in 1970. Back then, it seemed to me that the Bison-Sioux rivalry was the most important thing going in the athlectic world in the State of North Dakota. Most of my friends from NDSU and UND referred to the Bison as the Bison and the Sioux as the Sioux. I must have missed something, as I never thought about the Sioux as the Fighting Sioux until I read about it in the papers, and the settlement with the NCAA seemed real logical and right to me. Now we have the legislature getting involved. Don’t they have more important things to do? We don’t even have the Nickel Trophy going anymore! What in the word is going on back in my beloved North Dakota!! None of this stuff makes any sense to me at all!! Go Bison Go Sioux
