Just because I don’t purchase music form iTunes, doesn’t mean I steal it. I buy straight mp3 files form Amazon without all the Apple proprietary “weight”. I also buy many used CDs at garage sales, thrift stores, etc. and rip them into my library. I also have a large personal collection of CDs collected from the late 80′s to today.
I think the Amazon mp3 store has done more to curb piracy than any thing else. A 99 cent or less “plain” file download that can be loaded into any device or player is much more convenient finding a good quality “black” copy, that isn’t infected with anything, hosted on a connection fast enough for a quick download….
