I would have a much better time if local people were allowed to sell food there, i think that would make it more of a community celebration rather than an over-priced scam.

I completely agree Mitch! RibFest is nothing more than an overpriced scam, concealed as a “competition” for circuit food providers. Imagine if the free market were at work and you had 5 or 6 additional local vendors competing both in quality, QUANTITY and PRICE! There is PLENTY of extra room for it in the parking lot, and the competition would quickly show that consumers would flock to those willing to sell a decent amount of ribs for a decent price.
The coverage on this event is nothing more than free advertising press for an event that only benefit a couple of out of town vendors and some token local charities.
Why can’t RibFest include local vendors with LOCAL prices that reflect the going rate for this area? $10-20 for a lunch snack? The portions don’t even cover a normal lunch meal, and for that you get a markup of 50%?

Sounds like a good time to go to Space Aliens for some good ribs.
