If the district is allowed to take the property behind Piedmont Plaza, it will be the first time eminent domain was used to carry out the district’s long-range facilities plan. Continue Reading

I don’t know this guy, but yeah, he probably is stubborn, he does not want to give up “HIS” property to the school district, nothing wrong with that. As far as bitter, probably entitled to it based on the school district clearing part of his property without permission and pressuring him to sell, again, HIS land. Why can’t he fight for what is his

I was never in favor of the long range facilities plan, and now the school board( after shoving the red plan down all of our throats) will bully their way thru the courts to obtain a parcel of land that they have decided they want! Where’s the fairness? There is non, and bullying people is what they do best! My church is there in this particular area, and the board decided they wanted the parsonage and other bits of land to build a walkway!!! A walkway? What a bunch ofc#%p!
Make those fat kids walk to where they need to go and maybe theyed loose some weight, instead of hijacking part of my church! That is really a low thing to do….but then isnt the school board really a bunch of low-lives?
Hot debate. What do you think?

Do you honestly think this is a good way to represent your church? Your faith? Fat kids? Really?

Metabolically challenged? Pleasantly plump? Physical activity deficient? She didn’t call a child fat directly to his face. It was a passing reference to emphasize her point. A rose by any other name still smells as sweet. A fat kid by any other name is still a fat kid.

Dixon is on board until some time in June. I don’t think IV’s contract has been finalized yet. So IV had nothing to do with this latest school board decision. This is more of Dixons handiwork. It has Dixon snot and school board puke smeared all over it in my estimation.

I hope Kuiti wins but I’m not holding my breath. The school board running ripshod over anything and everyone in their way needs to stop.

This narrow visioned School Board will get what they want at whatever cost – that is obvious. Look at all the homes they have bulldozed already. I don’t agree with Tom at all. If I was this guy I would have been a lot tougher. It’s his land, and this is America. The school district should have gotten what property they needed BEFORE

*BEFORE they starting building. They have been yanking around the congregation at that nearby church for almost two years. Nothing has been settled. The congregation declined the offer, and the school district just stopped contacting them. I suppose eminent domain of the church is next. It might be a brand new school, but at what lengths?

To say that this is the first time the School District used eminent domain on the Red Plan, might be accurate, but the THREAT of eminent domain has been used against many home owners with the Red Plan. This was used against home owners around Ordean, Lester Park, Denfeld and the Wheeler Middle School Site. Telling people they have 30 days to settle and sell or we will take your house by eminent domain and you will get what you get, IS USING EMINENT DOMAIN. The threat of eminent domain is the same thing. So DNT, don’t pat the school district on the back because this might be the first time they actually use it. And they have a “anti-bullying” program? They are the biggest bullies of all.

Thank you Amanda you said it perfectly! And yes this school board has been jerking the congregation around for some time now! They (school board) should be ashamed of themselves, but they have no shame for their actions against property owners, it’s what theyve decided, let alone how their decisions negatively affect property owners. I’m hopeful that when elections come around none of those board members will be re-elected and seated to disrupt more lives around here!
