Federal agency says it won’t reimburse sand costs from 2009 flood fight
FARGO Although the Federal Emergency Management Agency already approved and cut a check to Cass County for sand used in the 2009 flood fight, FEMA now wants that money back.

Its hard to feel sympathy for a community thats not willing to pay its fair share of comprehensive flood protection, instead taking care of only itself.

I didn’t read the article as trying to get sympathy. It’s unfortunate that FEMA’s rules are complicated enough that even the agency has trouble knowing them.

What?? You mean Berndt doesn’t have his name on the FEMA checking account giving him authority to write checks on behalf of FEMA? How did that one slip by? Maybe with his new position he will have that authority.

Our county also has to repay $125,000. back on projects that they had approved and now they don’t. This is only the start as the Country is broke and things are only getting worse. We now have over 30 spots in our Township alone where roads are washed out from this spring flood. We can’t afford to fix them as we are broke too!

ignorance is no excuse on the counties or Fema’s part.pay it if we owe it,we have no choice.they will just reduce payment from the next disaster money.no one will admit fault due to privacy laws anyway.sounds like some inner circle starting a whizzing in our wheaties contest.
