worthy programs, in fact i have used some of the services. The big problem I have is the administration. Look at the author name and qualifications and tell me this person’s job will not be threatened with grant cuts. OH YEAH! When we see letters like this loaded with statistics that are manipulated I can see why programs need cutting. Show me the whole truth. The administering of government grants is a lucrative business. Several people in each agency make very comfortable livings off this, and more are working at low to modest wages. It takes a building and desks, computers, etc. All said and done it takes a lot of the public money to distribute the public money. To bad we cant get the money to the end user without all the mumbo jumbo in between. I think technology could take care of that if we would only develop the programs.

If medicare was revised and all of the red tape was removed long-term care facilities could run much more productivly. Just to handle the requirements of medicare paperwork most long-term facilities have to hire at least 3 extra nurses. Not to mention a medical records person ect. The money saved could be used for hiring more and better trained floor staff.
