Cleanup Week set for May 16-20

The 2011 edition of Cleanup Week in Jamestown is set for May 16 through 20.
The schedule was announced during the Jamestown Public Works Committee meeting on Thursday. The annual event allows residents to place items that would not normally be picked up out on the street for removal and disposal by the city.

I would like to amend the comment I made above. We can make our city MORE beautiful this way. Our city is ALREADY beautiful, sans the SE part of town.

I always like how they set cleanup week during the same time as college/high school graduations so that way, when people come here from out of town they can see trash piled up in front of every house in the city, what an enduring image to represent out city. They really should set it up to sometime in late June, that way you avoid graduation season, and it would be before the fourth of July, not to mention giving everyone an extra month to get around to actually cleaning out their house.
