Wal-Mart got the liquor license it wanted from the Grand Forks City Council Monday.

Does the Grand Forks city council hate small business? I understand that Hal owns a small business but like everything else involving liquor he abstained from voting. Lets see how many more small business owners loose their shops to Walmart. Also, how much longer until the city starts giving away liquor licenses with every case of booze purchased? Finally, congrats for adding a bunch minimum wage jobs to the community for a business that takes its profits to another state.

thank god….Grand Forks is So far behind the rest of the US in EVERYTHING. Partly because ELDERS (sometimes literally) block most ideas that comes to GF…I know a liquor store is not a new idea, but history has proven GF leaders are slow to keep up with the rest of the US…a liquor store wont make them stay…but think really hard why youth are leaving….(this city caters to the older crowd and the young kids-and not much inbetween)

Now all Walmart needs is an indoor trailer park so people would never have to leave “Walmart Town.”
