A new restaurant is brewing to open in downtown Alexandria.
Over the years, the property at 319 Broadway has been a well-known landmark in the Alexandria community. It was originally built as a private residence in the 1860s. In 1926, the property became a funeral home and then went back to being a private residence in 1929. The building was vacant and in need of repairs at the time it was converted to The Bronc’s On Broadway restaurant in 1986. Then, in 1993, the eating establishment was sold and the newly named Old Broadway took its place. Continue Reading

Its going to be call the Main Steet Brewery yet no mention if they’ll be brewing beer? If they are going to call it a “brewery” I’d hope they brew beer! That’s the one thing Alex is missing, a place to get fresh, on-site brewed beer!

It would be nice for the area to have a micro brewery, but that is not clear in the article. Good luck, I hope their debt service isn’t 1 million plus or they will have a difficult time.

I would like to see this sale go through. It would be nice to see something open there. Hope that sale goes through!

In house brewery or not I am SOOO excited to see this place open again!!! Especially with some of the same atmosphere that was out at Anderson’s. Alexandria needs a good seafood place.

Bug a boo is already going to see a dip in sales with this place opening before they even open.
Hot debate. What do you think?

Pretty sure there will be no brewing on site. I think that the title is a joke, a bad one at that. “Minstreet” instead of Broadway, makes me think this. Plus, Chris can barely make a decent meal, let alone craft a decent beer. I hate to say it, but don’t expect too much from these guys.
