County addresses issues in strategic planning session
WORTHINGTON Nobles County commissioners met for an all-day strategic planning session Tuesday, discussing all areas of county government to identify cost savings, collaboration and continued services. Continue Reading

I cant believe the comments from commissioners Their and Lestico regarding Midway Park. How exactly do they know that the park doesnt get used at all,to quote their comments in the DGlobe. My son and I fished there a MINIMUM of 20 times last summer alone and there were few times that there wasnt someone else already fishing there. Im sure that there have been beer parties and kids messing around out there when they shouldnt but please dont take one of the few good fishing spots in the Adrian area away from the public! Aside from the property tax part, what are the big expenses? I understand the county needs to make cuts but u have little to no upkeep of the place and thats just fine for us who enjoy the outdoors and dont need fancy campgrounds, picnic tables , etc to keep us happy!

I agree 100%. Just because none of the commissioners use this particular park doesn’t mean it should be sold. Me and my son fish at Midway throughout the year often with plenty of other people around. It’s nice to have a lake you can fish at and not have to worry about motor boats cruising around. With the amount of use this park gets and what it cost to maintain, it just doesn’t make sense. The lake is deep enough that an aeration system is not needed to keep fish alive during the winter. However the commissioners want to use the depth of the lake as a safety concern. As far as saying its just a drinking spot for kids, the same could be said for just about all the other parks in nobles co. Just remember, once it’s gone there is no getting it back. Please keep the park for future generations to enjoy.

If the park is given to Pheasants Forever and they could sell it to the DNR, than what are the chances that the park would still be accessible to the public? That is something that the public who do utilize this and other parks are interesting in. It’s a question that should of been asked or answered.
